We performed 2 poems as part of Oscillate 2018 at the Turner Contemporary Margate. For the 2nd poem the performer (Nik Renouf) read a script from an iPad, which displayed text based on Dan Hoeweler’s poem “Computer Virus in My Head”. The audience were able to control the intelligibility of the poem and reading speed of the performer through interacting with the algorithm using their smart phones. In the latter stages the performer is sampled, manipulated and effected in real time by Dan Herbert on Laptop and control surfaces.
